CYCLING
IN CENTRAL FLORIDA
The Ultimate Guide to Riding in Central Florida
Central Florida is one of the most underrated cycling destinations in the United States. With year-round riding weather, scenic lakes, smooth trails, and growing cycling communities, it’s a paradise for road cyclists, gravel riders, and recreational cyclists alike.
At The Ride Experience, we explore the best routes, group rides, bike trails, and hidden gems across Central Florida, and share them with you.

Winter Garden, Lake Minneola
One of the best parts about riding from our shop is how quickly you can reach Lake Minneola. Within minutes, you’re on smooth pavement with beautiful lake views and wide-open paths perfect for settling into a steady rhythm. The loop is mostly flat with gentle rollers, making it ideal for endurance rides, intervals, or a relaxed spin with friends, all just about a mile from our front door.
Winter Garden, West Orange Trail
Ride through the charming town of Winter Garden and on the West Orange Trail. Over 20 miles of paved trails ride through beautiful neighborhoods and nature preserves. Plenty of places to stop and experience some local shops, restaurants, and coffee. No need for a guide on this ride, you can pick up the bike at our shop and enjoy the ride.

Winter Garden to Clermont
(SugarLoaf Mountain)
If you’re looking for a real challenge, you can ride straight from our shop toward Sugarloaf Mountain, the most iconic climb in Central Florida. The route rolls through quiet roads before pitching up into sustained, leg-burning gradients that test your strength and pacing. It’s the go-to spot for hill repeats, threshold efforts, or simply proving to yourself that Florida isn’t completely flat. Best of all, it’s all accessible on two wheels right from our front door
Road and Gravel around Lake Apopka
Now you can complete a full loop around Lake Apopka entirely on bike trails — about 60% paved and 40% gravel. Starting from our shop, the full circuit around the lake comes out to roughly 50 miles, making it the perfect endurance ride with a mix of smooth pavement and scenic North Shore gravel. It’s one of the most dynamic and adventurous routes you can do in Central Florida — all without needing to load your bike in the car.

There are plenty of other routes and rides waiting to be explored. Check out our interactive guide map to discover rides starting right from our shop, or visit our blog for more bike trails and route ideas throughout Central Florida.
